Challenge Time: Make the Villain a Hero Challenge

We're back with a brand new challenge! This is one I'm particularly excited about as I've wanted to do something like this for a while! Without further ado, your next challenge:

Rules

This is a challenge that you can interpret in a couple different ways, but it's essentially about making a villain or someone typically seen as a villain into a hero.

You can do a retelling (fanfics are perfectly fine as well) where you make a character who is a villain the hero. Like the movie Malificent did with the villainess from Sleeping Beauty, actually taking a villain and either turning them into a hero, or telling their story from a perspective where they can be perceived as the "good guy".

Or, you can take a different approach and take a character or type of person who would typically be seen as the "bad guy" and make them the hero of their own story. Kind of like Gru from Despicable Me (who is actually one of my favorite cartoon characters ;)

Whatever you choose to do, have fun with this challenge! I think it will be a very interesting one to see.

And do it in 10,000 words or less as usual.

When

June 30th is the cut off date for submissions, but as always let me know if you need some more time and I'll just schedule your story for posting later :)

If you're a new writer who would like to participate, email me at sirwilliamssquire@gmail.com and let me know that you want to join in!

Really excited to see what everyone comes up with for this one!

Happy Writing!
Hazel
