Inanimate Objects Challenge

It's time for another writing challenge! The first of 2017! This one is the Inanimate Objects Challenge and will entail writing a story from the perspective of an inanimate object.

Rules
The literary device "anthropomorphism" is when a writer gives human attributes to something not human. Usually it's used on animals like in Wind in the Willows or the Redwall series, but sometimes it is also used on inanimate objects like a clock or a book.

For this challenge that is what you will be doing. Whether you want to simply write a story from the perspective of an inanimate object, or write about, say, a clock with human personality, that's up to you! Use your imagination with this one!

As always, 10,000 words is the limit.

When
I'd like to try and get the submissions by April 1st, but definitely let me know if you need a little more time.

If you are a new writer and would like to join this challenge, you can email me at sirwilliamssquire@gmail.com and let me know you want to join up.

As always, I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

Happy Writing!

  1. Hans Christian Anderson definitely gave me an appreciation for stories like this. This'll be fun. ^_^

  2. Oh my goodness, I just saw this! :O It sounds so much fun! I will definitely have to see if I can get something written up this week because I've been wanting to do one about a certain inanimate object for awhile now. :D I don't know if I will make it in time, but I will shoot you an email. ^_^
